Florian Claar

Sculpture in the park of the Tokyo Midtown Tower complex in Akasaka, Minato (Architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) next to of the 2121 Design Sight Museum by Issey Miyake. Based on the transformed structure of an icosahedron, the fragmentary object consists of 210 modular elements made of cast aluminum. The pavilion-like sculpture invites visitors to experience an unusual spacial situation, which seems not to be part of the surrounding space.

六本木の東京ミッドタウン・タワー（設計：スキッドモア・オーイングス＆メリル）の公園内にある、デザイナー三宅一生が創立した21_21 DESIGN SIGHT（設計：安藤忠雄）に隣接する彫刻作品。正20面体の変形構造に基づくこの断片的なオブジェは、アルミ鋳造による210個のモジュール要素で構成されている。パビリオン的でもあるこの彫刻は、周囲の空間から切り離されたような、非日常的な空間のシチュエーションを体験するよう来場者を招く。
