Excavations is a series of installations and large prints of photographic works created between 1999 and 2002, which focus on discoveries at unexpected places. Things found were they should not be, like the black monolith buried under the moon’s surface in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001. The process of reconstruction backstories from a few fragments is very imaginative. The more fragmentary and unknown a site is, the more it becomes a place for imagination and myths.
