A model of an unrealized concert machine developed for the exhibition-space Spiral Garden in Tokyo. Similar to previous acoustic installations (“Konzert für Piano, Schlagwerk und 24-teiliges Zellgewebe”and “Roka”), this machine is based on the idea of creating complex harmonic and rhythmic sequences using physical phenomena such as movements of water and air. This machine was developed to create a combination of non-linear, chaotic physical processes and mechanically controlled movements, and to transfer them as a complex sound tapestry to automated string instruments.
